* More hair is coming in everyday (and knowing my babies – she's gonna have a head full of the stuff – most likely jet black too) Baby knows my voice (and will probably be able to suss out it's sister and brother's screeching no doubt! I'm sure she'll recognize their names too given how many occasions I shout them out during the day)
* Baby's heartbeat is so strong now that it can be heard through a stethoscope (my OB is lazy however and continues to use the sonogram machine – which I don't mind a tick!)
* Baby is practicing her breathing skills by breathing in amniotic fluid – I just think that's so bizarre! I also wonder, since next month baby will start shifting into birthing position (upside down), does the blood rush to their heads @ all or are they in this weird non-gravitational environment? LoL
* Babygirl is developing her taste buds right about now so crazy-ass craving overdrive here I come!
* Baby's sense of touch will become more developed in another week or two and she'll start exploring the womb and herself with those skinny little fingers I saw on the ultrasound screen..
Speaking of "seeing" her – My OB was showing me all of her body parts and the ultrasound for the most part looks very skeletal because of lack of body fat on the baby.. She got a good face shot of her and kept pressing down on it and that must have pissed little one off cause she was all about covering her face and rolling over – lol, like she was being accosted by some paparazzi.. The Sonogram Paparazzi!
It's also a good thing I brought up the fact that I get frequent UTIs during pregnancy with my OB. That's why I had to have my blood drawn and urine taken last week. Turns out I do, in fact, have a slight UTI @ the moment so I've made myself some 100% home-made no-shit cranberry juice and am drinking a shot of it everyday.. It is some of the nastiest crap but people swear by it.. Hopefully that will kill it dead and it won't be an issue.. But UTIs + being pregnant = bad news. UTIs can jumpstart contractions so you don't want that happening in your 5th month like what happened when I had Drake..
Other than that, I'm feeling pretty swell on the whole. I think my belly growth had slowed down some for a couple weeks there. I was positive I would be like a Goodyear Blimp about now but overall I'm pretty tiny @ the ½ way mark, so I'm happy with that.. My lower back is starting to feel the strain but there's not a whole lot I can do about that outside of superficial treatments.. After the baby is born I'm heading over to an Orthopedist to get X-rayed..
Anyway – here's some fetal images @ 20 weeks.. Bizarrely adorable
