It's Bout Time to Make That Move

It’s bout that time to move..
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
My mind has been so full here lately since me and Pedro decided it'd be best to move to a different villa. The one we live in is nice and the neighborhood is well established and clean but we just can't seem to get any damn internet in this joint. The crappy service we do have disconnects on us so often it makes calling out on our Packet8 pretty much impossible..

So we decided to go villa hunting in a neighborhood that our friends live in. It's farther out, and in an up and coming area (ie; houses still being constructed) but at least we know they have high speed internet @ their place. There are SO many villas for rent in that area (Egalia/Agalia). We've actually settled on a nice one literally across the street from the Voth's house. Hopefully we'll get a contract together and signed this week and be ready to move next month. It all depends on how fast KRH works (that's the company outsourced by NG in Kuwait to handle all our domestic issues).

The only thing the place needs is a phone line installed (takes about a month – 2 months) and strangely enough they need to work in a hook up for a washer machine in their plumbing.. I don't know how they could have overlooked that but Pedro told the guy it's pretty imperative we have clean clothes.. Can't send EVERYTHING to dry cleaning!

Other than that it's a brand new villa (maybe 2 yrs old max) and doesn't look like anyone's lived in it really.. I'll be so excited to take pictures of this place compared with the place we're living in now.. Everything flows in this new place (more or less, Kuwaitis aren't necessarily known for their great tastes). It's all white marble flooring, white walls.. (Not like this place with it's 12 different kinds of tile and rainbow paintjob). The kitchen actually has upper cabinets and they're WOOD. It's actually a homey looking kitchen. The one I have now is so industrial looking with all the stainless steel.. I feel like I'm @ work in a grill restaurant and I don't much care for that kind of ambiance..

The bathrooms all have the same tile but each one is a different color – but at least they flow.. And the house is pretty open, not all sectioned off like this one so I'll be able to actually see the kids playing while I'm in the kitchen or the living room.. It's got 5 bedrooms – the maid's room is inside – and it has a 2nd living room on the second floor, which I'm going to make into my office/craft area.. I'll also put all the kids arts & craft supplies up there and make a mini playroom so I can keep an eye on them when I need to do online stuff.. I'm also thinking about moving my smaller refrigerator up there since it's a pretty substantial space..

Pedro insists on having his office in the downstairs bedroom but I told him he'll have to share that room as the guest bedroom cause I have nowhere else to put the guest bed and I don't really want the kids sharing rooms – (although, with two girls, they could share rooms for a long time to come but I want them to have their own space with their own themes going on and as long as this thought doesn't cross Pedro's mind, as it hasn't yet, we'll be good.. :D).

And last but not least, it has GRASS! Which is a premium in this place.. The house and compound it's-self is gated off but outside the gate are two large sectioned off pieces of land with grass so I'm thinking that's where I'll put the swingset.. We'll also still have covered car parking so I think this place has all our needs covered, more than amply.. We'll also be close to friends (even our maids are friends so that's a benny for them) AND we'll be within 5 minutes of not one but TWO of my favorite Japanese restaurants!

Anyway, so crossing muh fingers on that.. Hope my landlord doesn't turn out to be a douche. But as long as he does those two things and keeps up the maintenance we'll be golden..

Well I must away – I've got some online ordering to do (which SUCKS with bad internet) – Have a great day whoever you ares!
